The preseason practices for the Mississippi State football team have been a unique experience. They've practiced on the MSU south farm in front of a few cows while spending their nights in a hotel. Then they begin their regular practices by spending two hours under the lights of the practice fields. At least one player has enjoyed the experience. Full Story |

I went to the stadium last night extremely optimistic. I have been waiting to see what Jacques Chapdelaine could pull out of the hat. It has been suggested in the media that he was the Eskimos biggest acquisition in the off season and the offense certainly didn't disappoint. Full Story

Here it is, already March and yet training camp and the beginning of the 2007 season seems so far away. With the NFL combine just past and march madness just around the corner I thought this might be an appropriate time to jot down a few musings about the flagship franchise of the CFL. Full Story

It seems like only yesterday. Walking down the block of concrete down to the then glistening artificial turf of Cyclone Stadium moved a man diminutive in size, but gigantic in heart. Armed with merely a 5’8 185 pound frame, he didn’t look like much of a football player. But he was a warrior. His definition of war-paint meant eye-black and a breathe-right strip above his nose. It is getting increasingly tougher to not only watch what is happening with the Eskimos this season, but also to sit down and write about it afterwards. The problem is not in telling it like it is right now (we stink). The problem is coming up with something new to write each week.

Once again this season the Eskimos stumbled and bumbled their way through a football game. The only saving grace for me was that I was at a function and unable to watch more than a few minutes and without any sound. That was a blessing as I'm sure it sounded much worse. Full Story

As I sit here preparing to write down my feelings about that unreasonable facsimile of a football game the Eskimos played last Friday, I find myself on the verge of apathy. There are a lot of fans and media types in Edmonton suffering from a host of emotions due to the way the Eskimos have played. Everything from anxiety to anger to hope (yes, hope) and forgiveness. I am going to choose apathy. Full Story
