Dickenson led the CFL in quarterbacking efficiency last year
with a 111.2 rating completing 238 of 338 passes for 3032 yards and 22 TD’s.
The 34 year-old Montana-native and fifth-year Lion was also named the Most
Outstanding Player in last season’s Grey Cup victory over the Montreal
Alouettes.
“Dave is an outstanding
leader on our football club and I am very pleased to have this agreement in
place,” said Lions GM and head coach
Wally Buono. “The quality of
quarterbacks on our roster gives our fans a lot to be excited about and
provides our team with stability for seasons to come.”
Dickenson currently ranks 4th in Lions history with his 12,833
passing yards and 87 TD’s. His efficiency rating as a Lion of 114.0 leads the
club. In his four seasons with the Lions, the team has finished in first place
in the West Division three times, played in two Grey Cups and earned one
championship.
“I’m excited about getting this contract resolved and
getting to work on the field,” said Dickenson. “I am thrilled to be a Lion and can’t wait to
start down the road towards winning another championship for our fans.”
