The Canadian Football League (CFL) announced today the Rogers CFL Players of the Week #17 as selected by members of the Canadian football broadcasters.

Offensive Player of the Week

RB – Troy Davis – Edmonton Eskimos

Troy Davis collected his first 100-yard game of the season in a 28-23 loss to the Toronto Argonauts in the Thanksgiving Classic on Monday. Davis had 22 carries for 189 yards, including a 44-yard run and added 20 yards on four receptions.

Defensive Player of the Week

DB – Davis Sanchez – Montreal Alouettes

Saskatchewan Roughriders 8 @ Montreal Alouettes 35

Highlights / Key Stats:

Davis Sanchez is one of three Alouettes honoured this week for their performance in a 35-8 win over the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Sanchez had two tackles and returned an interception 43 yards for a touchdown.

Lineman of the Week

Also honoured for his defensive play is lineman Anwar Stewart. Stewart contributed a pair of sacks, a tackle and a pass knockdown to an Alouettes defence that held the Roughriders to just eight points.

Special Teams Player of the Week

RB – Eric Lapointe – Montreal Alouettes

Highlights / Key Stats:

Led by Eric Lapointe, Montreal’s special teams played a large role in its playoff clinching victory over Saskatchewan. Lapointe had four special teams tackles, the most by an Alouette in a single game this season.
