Rogers Players of the Week

The Canadian Football League (CFL) announced today the Rogers CFL Players of the Week #13 as selected by members of the Canadian football broadcasters.

Offensive Player of the Week

QB – Ricky Ray – Edmonton Eskimos

Highlights / Key Stats:

Down 26-22 in the fourth quarter, Edmonton’s offence took the field at their own 13 yard line.  Led by quarterback, Ricky Ray, the Eskimos marched down the field in 11 plays and scored the go-ahead touchdown with a three-yard pass to Jason Tucker.

Ray completed 23 of 33 passes for 281 yards and one touchdown. Adding eight carries for 81 yards, Ray had a complete performance, leading the Eskimos to their first win in three games.

Defensive Player of the Week

DL – Terrell Jurineack – Saskatchewan Roughriders

Saskatchewan Roughriders 23 @ Winnipeg Blue Bombers 27

Highlights / Key Stats:

In a losing effort, Terrell Jurineack had five tackles and two quarterback sacks. Jurineack has six sacks on the season, ranking him tied for fifth in the League.

Lineman of the Week

DL – Adam Braidwood – Edmonton Eskimos

Highlights / Key Stats:

After Ray found Tucker in the endzone for the go-ahead score, Edmonton’s Adam Braidwood sealed the victory when he forced Calgary QB Henry Burris to fumble, and returned the ball five yards for a touchdown. Braidwood finished the game with three forced fumbles, two tackles, and a pair of quarterback sacks.

Special Teams Player of the Week

K / P – Sean Fleming – Edmonton Eskimos

Highlights / Key Stats:

Sean Fleming connected on all five field goal attempts hitting from 11, 16, 26, 36 and 37 yards. He also averaged 41 yards on four punts and 51.9 yards on seven kickoffs. Fleming added two converts, bringing his total points scored in the game to 17.
