The Canadian Football League (CFL) announced today the Rogers CFL Players of the Week #12 as selected by members of the Canadian football broadcasters.

Offensive Player of the Week

QB – Buck Pierce – B.C. Lions

B.C. Lions 48 @ Montreal Alouettes 13

Highlights / Key Stats:

After starting quarterback Dave Dickenson left the game due to injury, the BC Lions turned to backup QB Buck Pierce. Pierce completed 13-of-16 passes for 221 yards and three touchdowns, leading the Lions to a 48-13 victory over the Alouettes.

Defensive Player of the Week

DB – Byron Parker – Toronto Argonauts

Toronto Argonauts 40 @ Hamilton Tiger-Cats 6

Highlights / Key Stats:

In Toronto’s 40-6 victory over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, defensive back Byron Parker returned a pair of interceptions for touchdowns (87, 48). Parker also had two defensive tackles.

Since re-joining the Argos on August 12, Parker has intercepted four passes and returned three for majors.

Highlights / Key Stats:

Calgary kick return specialist J.R. Ruffin returned three kickoffs for 81 yards (27 avg., 31 LG) and one missed field goal 41 yards. Ruffin also had a special teams’ tackle.
