Edmonton's Ricky Ray and Signor Mobley were named Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week respectively, while Calgary's Rahim Abdullah and Sandro DeAngelis received Lineman and Special Teams Player of the Week honors. | |||

Toronto, ON (July 12, 2006) - The Canadian Football League (CFL) announced
today the Rogers CFL Players of the Week #4 as selected by members of the
Canadian football broadcasters. Offensive Player of the Week QB - Ricky Ray –
Edmonton Eskimos B.C. Lions 20 @
Edmonton Eskimos 27 Highlights / Key Stats: In a vital win for the
defending Grey Cup champions, quarterback Ricky Ray had a solid
performance completing 21 of 29 passes for 325 yards, two interceptions
and two touchdowns. He also added 48 yards on the ground on eight carries,
scoring one rushing TD. Runner Up QB – Henry Burris – Calgary Stampeders SB – Milt Stegall– Winnipeg Blue Bombers Defensive Player of the Week LB – Singor Mobley – Edmonton Eskimos B.C. Lions 20 @ Edmonton Eskimos
27 Highlights / Key Stats: Edmonton linebacker Singor Mobley anchored a defence
that held the high-octane offence of the BC Lions to 20 points. Mobley
registered two tackles and broke-up a pass in the fourth quarter on a crucial

defensive end Rahim Abdullah was a catalyst on defence, registering two sacks

week, Calgary’s place kicker Sandro DeAngelis has been honoured in the special
teams category. In the Stamps victory over the ‘Riders on the weekend,
DeAngelis was a perfect 6 for 6 in field goals, connecting from 26, 30, 35, 36,
43 and 52 yards. Since missing a 45-yard
attempt in the first quarter of the Stampeders opening game of the 2006 season,
DeAngelis has nailed 15 consecutive field goals. *Unanimous Selection. |
